தோழமைகளுக்கும், 

சமூக ஜனநாயக செயற்பாட்டாளர்களுக்கும்…..

இலங்கையில் கடந்த ஆண்டு நிகழ்ந்த அரசியல், அதிகார மாற்றத்தினை , கருத்துப்பார்வையிலும் செயற்பாட்டுத் தளத்தில் நின்று உளமாற ஆதரித்தவர்கள் நாம். இலங்கை ஆட்சி, அதிகாரத் தளத்தில் ஜனாதிபதித் தேர்தல், பாராளுமன்றத் தேர்தல் வழியாக  நிகழ்ந்த மாற்றம்  தவிர்க்க முடியாததொரு அரசியல் போக்கு என்பதை உறுதியாக  இன்னமும் நம்புகிறோம். 

ஊழல், வீண்விரயம், பொதுச்சொத்துக்களை கையாடுதல் , இவற்றிற்கு பெயர்போன அரசியல்வாதிகள், அரச அதிகாரிகள் மீதான விழிப்புணர்வும், நிர்ப்பந்தமும் என ஒரு முக்கிய மாற்றம் நாட்டில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதை யாரும் மறுக்க முடியாது. இந்த விடயங்களில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள நல்மாற்றங்கள் , மேலும் முக்கியமான பல்வேறு விடயங்களில் ஏற்பட வேண்டும் என்பதே எமது நோக்காகும். 

இதற்காக நாம் , என்.பீ.பீ/ ஜே.வி.பி அரசாங்கத்திற்கும் , அரசியல் தலைமைகளுக்கும் 6 மாத கால அவகாசத்தினை கொடுத்துப் பார்த்திருந்தோம். இந்தக் காலகட்டத்தில் என்.பீ.பீ/ ஜே.வி.பி அரசாங்கமும் , அதன்  தலைமைகளும் பல்வேறு முக்கியத்துவமான விடயங்களில் முன்னேற்றகரமான கொள்கை, செயற்பாடுகள் , நம்பிக்கையை தரும் வகையில் முன்னோக்கிச் செல்வதாகத் தெரியவில்லை.

தேர்தல்களுக்கு முன்னும் , தேர்தல் காலங்களிலும் முன்வைக்கப்பட்டதும், மக்களுக்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்டதுமான வாக்குறுதிகள் அமுல்படுத்தப்படாததுடன், சொன்னவற்றிற்கு மாற்றமாக பல்வேறு விடயங்கள் நடந்தும் வருகின்றன .

 குறிப்பாக எண்ணிக்கைச் சிறுபான்மையினரான தமிழர், முஸ்லிம், மலையகத் தமிழ் மக்களின் பிரதான விடயங்களில்  புதிய அரசாங்கத்தின்  கொள்கை நோக்கும் , அணுகுமுறைகளும் செயற்பாடுகளும் ,கடந்த அரசாங்கத் தலைமைகள் கைக்கொண்ட  வழிமுறைகளில் இருந்து முன்னோக்கிய, ஆரோக்கியமான , நம்பிக்கைதரும்  சமிஞ்ஞைகளைக் கூட தர முடியாத போக்கினையே வெளிக்காட்டி வருகிறது. இந்த நிலை ஒரு ஆரோக்கியமான போக்கு அல்ல என்பதனை சுட்டிக்காட்ட வேண்டிய நிலையில் நாம் உள்ளோம். 

இன்றைய இந்த நிலை தோற்றுவிக்கும் பிரதான விளைவுகளில் ஒன்றாக, எண்ணிக்கைச் சிறுபான்மையினரான தமிழர், முஸ்லிம், மலையகத் தமிழ் மக்களின் பெரும்பான்மையான பிரிவினர் இந்த புதிய அரசாங்கத்தினை உளமாற ஆதரிக்கும் போக்கிலிருந்து விலகத் தொடங்குவதும் , அதிருப்தி, மற்றும் விமர்சனங்களை வெளிப்படுத்தத் தொடங்குவதுமாகும்.  இந்தப் போக்கு இனவாத, மற்றும் ஐக்கியப்பட்ட இலங்கை மக்களின் வாழ்வை  விரும்பாத சக்திகளுக்கு தீனி போடுகிறது. இந்த நிலை எந்த வகையிலும் அரசாங்கத்திற்கும், அனைத்து இலங்கை மக்களுக்கும் நன்மை பயக்கக் கூடியதுமல்ல. 

அனைத்து இலங்கை வாழ் மக்களினதும், நீண்டகாலமாக புறக்கணிக்கப்படுகின்ற எண்ணிக்கைச் சிறுபான்மையினரான தமிழர், முஸ்லிம், மலையகத் தமிழ் மக்களின் அரசியல், சமூக உரிமைகளை கருத்திற் கொண்டு, தோழமையும், நட்பார்ந்த விமர்சனத்துடனும்  மக்களின் கருத்துக்களை அரசாங்கத்திற்கும், அரசியல் செயற்பாட்டாளர்களுக்கும் , கல்வியலாளர்களுக்கும் , பொதுச் சமூகத்திற்கும் முன் எழுத்து மூலமாக  முன் வைப்பது எமது கடமை எனக் கருதுகிறோம்.

மக்கள், சமூகப் பிரிவினர்களிடமிருந்து கலந்துரையாடல் வழியாக கருத்துகள், அபிப்பிராயங்கள், முன்வைப்புகள் பெறப்படுதலும், இதில் சிவில் சமூகத்தின் பிரதிநிதித்துவத்தினையும் பங்காற்றுதலையும் வெளிக்கொண்டு வருவதும் , இன்றைய   நிலையில் ஒரு அவசியமான முன்னெடுப்பாக உள்ளது.

இதற்காக தொடர்ச்சியாக, ஒவ்வொரு வாரமும் , உடனடியாக முக்கியத்துவம் கொடுக்க வேண்டிய விடயங்களை எடுத்து, ZOOM  வழியாக உரையாடி, அதன் திரட்டுகளை அனைத்து  தரப்புகள் முன்   கொண்டு சேர்க்கும் ஒரு பணியை செய்ய உள்ளதுடன், இதற்கான செயற்பாட்டுத்தளங்களையும், இணையத்தளமொன்றையும் உருவாக்கும் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளோம்!

மக்கள் ஜனநாயக அரங்கு  – PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC FORUM

To our comrades, members of civil society 

and democratic activists, 

We wholeheartedly supported the political and power transition that occurred in Sri Lanka last year, both in terms of our perspective and our actions. We firmly believe that the change that took place in the Sri Lankan government and power structure through the Presidential and Parliamentary elections was an inevitable political trend. 

No one can deny that a significant change has occurred in the country, marked by increased awareness and pressure regarding corruption, waste, and the misuse of public property by politicians and government officials. Our aim is for these positive changes to extend to other key areas. 

We gave the N.P.P/J.V.P government and its political leadership a six-month period. During this period, it did not appear that the N.P.P/J.V.P government and its leadership were moving forward with progressive policies, and actions, or in a way that inspires confidence in various important matters. The declarations of the political manifesto have not been implemented, and various things are happening contrary to what was promised. 

In particular, the new government’s policy approach, methods, and actions regarding key issues affecting the Tamil, Muslim, and Malayaga Tamil people, who are numerical minority nations, have not shown any promising signs of moving beyond the practices of previous government leaders. We must highlight that this situation represents a concerning trend. 

One of the primary consequences of the current scenario is that a majority of the Tamil, Muslim, and Malayaga Tamil people, as numerical minority nations, are beginning to distance themselves from wholeheartedly supporting this new government and are starting to voice their dissatisfaction and criticism. This trend fosters racism and empowers those who do not wish for a united Sri Lankan society. Such a situation is not beneficial to the government or any people of Sri Lanka. 

We believe it is our responsibility to convey the opinions of the people to the government, political activists, academics, and the public in writing, with camaraderie and constructive criticism, while considering the political and social rights of all Sri Lankan citizens, especially the long-neglected Tamil, Muslim, and Malayaga Tamil people. 

In the current context, it is vital to gather opinions, views, and proposals from the public and social groups through dialogue, and to bring to the attention of the government and the concerned representation and to the attention of civil society in this process. 

To achieve this, we plan to continuously address issues requiring immediate attention on a weekly basis through ZOOM discussions and to disseminate summaries to all parties involved. We are also endeavouring to create action platforms and a website for this purpose!
